Zevx and Pritchard Commercial announce exciting electric vehicle OEM partnership

Zevx, a self-described leader of electric vehicle systems, recently announced a partnership with commercial vehicle sales specialist Pritchard Commercial.

The partnership will see Pritchard Commercial receive the rights to sell power system and battery products manufactured by Zevx. It is thought the deal will see Class 2-5 commercial vehicles replaced by electric vehicles which produce zero carbon emissions.

Pritchard Commercial adds to OEM partner portfolio

Pritchard Commercial is one subsidiary of automotive network Pritchard Companies. The company is a supplier of car parts including chassis and upfitting, as well as offering vehicle registration and logistical services. Pritchard Commercial finalised a proof-of-concept stage for Zevx’s power systems in 2022, and is reportedly conducting an operational trial of the systems before a wide release in the future.

“Zevx electric power systems are helping commercial fleets embrace the future with solutions to lower carbon emissions, improve daily economics and extend the life of existing fleets and vehicles,” said CEO Don Listwin.

“Pritchard Commercial, leveraging 110 years and counting of powering our nation’s trucks and supply chain, is an ideal partner to increase our speed of fleet modernisation and electrification nationwide.”

Family-owned Pritchard Commercial has agreed OEM partnerships with service vehicle fleets across the United States. The company also announced a change of leadership last month, with Corey Stanley joining as the new CCO, and Scott Sasser joining as VP of Commercial & Global Sales. Cory Thorpe was also promoted to the position of Director of Commercial Sales.

“We are thrilled to welcome Corey and Scott on board and believe their deep industry experience will provide framework for success” said Angela Pritchard Spiteri, COO of Pritchard Companies.

“As a family enterprise, it’s essential to have depth in leadership and we couldn’t be more excited to have these industry leaders developing the next generation of Pritchard Companies.”

Zevx expands services across USA

As for Zevx, this partnership arrives at an optimum time, as the specialist in battery electric vehicle power systems for e-mobility services is expanding its ambitions across America.

“Zevx electric power systems are helping commercial fleets embrace the future with solutions to lower carbon emissions, improve daily economics and extend the life of existing fleets and vehicles,” said Listwin.

“Pritchard Commercial, leveraging 110 years and counting of powering our nation’s trucks and supply chain, is an ideal partner to increase our speed of fleet modernisation and electrification nationwide.”

Like Pritchard Commercial, 2023 has been an active year for Zevx. In February, the company announced it had raised approximately €18.40 million ($20 million) in a funding round. The investment was led by the investment arm of The Reynolds and Reynolds Company, Reynolds Capital.

The company also announced leadership changes with Listwin’s promotion from Executive Chairman to CEO, and adding members to its Board of Directors, with Kevin Kennedy joining as Chairman and independent Board Member. David Shimek, SVP of Corporate Development at The Reynolds and Reynolds Company and Sidney Haider, founder of AddOnAuto, and Senior Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions for The Reynolds and Reynolds Company also joined the Zevx Board of Directors.

“We always look to invest in difference makers focusing on technology innovations that fill proven market needs and have the potential to open new opportunities for the automotive retail industry,” Shimek commented at the time.

“We’re encouraged by Zevx’s bright future and capability to drive existing truck fleets toward a cleaner and more economical future. And we’re excited to contribute to Zevx’s growth and direction, as it fills a niche not being met in the marketplace today.”
