Transcend launches DrivePro 20 motorcycle cam

Taiwanese brand Transcend has announced the launch of DrivePro 20 – a dash camera for motorcycles, featuring a high-sensitivity STARVIS™ image sensor for capturing clear, high-resolution images day and night.

In addition to the STARVIS™ high-sensitivity image sensor (trademarked by Sony), the 140° wide-angle view and 1080 full HD recording at 60fps capture seamless images that can accurately identify key information such as license plate numbers, Transcend says.

It also comes with an emergency recording function, which will be activated when the G-sensor detects any collision, as well as Wi-Fi connectivity, and a built-in battery.

The DrivePro 20 has an aluminum exterior and meets rigorous US military drop-test standards for shock resistance, and it is rated IP68 so is suitable for outdoor use in all weathers. The high-capacity Li-Polymer battery, meanwhile, allows up to 2.5 hours of recording on a single charge, and power saving mode prevents unnecessary power consumption.

On the free, exclusive DrivePro app , available on Android or iOS, users can browse real-time videos, download footage, and adjust device settings, and the dash cam comes with a 32GB microSD memory card. This utilizes high-quality 3D NAND flash chips and is tested to withstand extreme conditions.

A micro USB to USB Type-A cable is also provided, allowing users to charge and transfer files via a computer or other devices.
