Oppo unveils Reno8 Z 5G and Pad Air

Oppo has lifted the curtain on two new innovative devices, the Reno8 Z 5G smartphone and the Oppo Pad Air.

The Oppo Reno8 Z 5G offers users a range of innovative camera settings

The Reno8 Z 5G features a range of draws, including AI-enhanced imaging features and a dynamic design. With AI Portrait Retouching, users can adjust skin tone and makeup without signs of artificial brightening, built on the feedback provided by a special survey. Users can take natural and vivid selfies with both high resolution and saturation.

The Bokeh Flare Portrait is introduced for users looking to take high-quality portrait images, by enhancing the subject’s brightness, automatically blurring the background and boosting light spots.

The smartphone’s 64MP AI Triple Camera means features can work dependably whether it is day or night. Selfie HDR, AI Palettes, AI Colour Portrait, Ultra-Clear 108MP Image and Flash Snapshot are just some of the other camera features on the Reno8 Z 5G.

This is also the first Oppo smartphone that has a 0.5mm anti-glare glass back cover, along with “Integrated Oppo Glow,” giving users a “fingerprint-resistant” back with a matte finish and glittery style. The smartphone, which is available in Dawnlight Gold and Starlight Black, features a slim body, just 7.66mm wide and weighs around 181g.

Furthermore, Oppo says its Reno8 Z 5G is the first smartphone to feature a spliced matte-glossy battery cover. This replaces the camera base, “to elevate visual unity and create a refreshing yet dynamic look,” a press release notes. The smartphone also has the brand’s signature Dual Orbit Lights, located under the dual camera.

In terms of technical specifications, the Reno8 Z 5G has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with 60Hz refresh rate, with a display that is apparently Netflix HD and Amazon Prime Video HD certified for playing high-quality video content. The device also features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G Mobile Platform chip. 33W SUPERVOOC charging means the device’s 4500mAh battery can be charged to 100% in 63 minutes.

Oppo Pad Air promises users blend of technology and aesthetics

Another newly-announced device from Oppo is the Pad Air. Starting with design, the Oppo Pad Air is inspired by sand dunes, with sandblasted particles, dune-like textures and a metallic finish. The device weighs around 440g, and is just 6.94mm thick.

The device runs on the ColorOS for Pad operating system, which Oppo has fitted with new upgrades. As well as existing features like two-finger split screen, four-finger floating window, and Smart Sidebar, there are new settings like file drag and drop and clipboard sharing. Users can simply drag and drop photos and videos taken by the phone to the tablet, simplifying the process of file sharing. Cross-device features also include copying and pasting text from one device to another.

Oppo Pad Air is built with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 Mobile Platform chip, and has eight-core architecture, along with the AI System Booster 2.1 feature which lets users have a smooth experience when multitasking. A 10.36-inch 2K HD eye care display is TÜV Rheinland certified for low blue light eye protection, “ensuring clear and smooth pictures and effectively reducing eye fatigue.”

The tablet has four speakers that support Dolby Atmos, “delivering high-quality, layered sound with clarity and an immersive listening experience.” The 7,100 mAh battery lets users do activities they enjoy for long periods of time, such as watching videos for up to 12 hours, video conferencing for 15 hours or reading e-books for 16 hours.

Oppo A77s

Oppo also followed the release of the A77 5G device in June, and 4G variant in August, with the A77s.

This device is powered by the Snapdragon 680 SoC, running Android 12-based ColorOS. There is a microSD card slot with storage that can be expanded up to one terabyte. The RAM can be expanded virtually up to 5GB.
