The new HAPTA makeup applicator from L’Oréal is the first of its kind designed to advance the beauty needs of people with limited hand and arm mobility.

L’Oréal is standing up for those with limited fine motor skills with cutting edge technology designed to help make-up application. The cosmetics brand said “the future of beauty is inclusive” as it unveiled two new technology prototypes in January. The devices are designed to help those with limited movement in their hands and arms to apply make-up more easily.

Introducing HAPTA, the first handheld ultra-precise computerised makeup applicator which aims to advance such beauty needs. And welcome Brow Magic, the first at-home electronic eyebrow makeup applicator that provides users with customised brow looks in seconds.

Currently under development, HAPTA aims to provide users with limited mobility to apply their own lipstick steadily, reinforcing their autonomy and self-confidence. The device will incorporate technology originally created by Verily to stabilise and level eating utensils. It does this by combining built-in smart motion controls along with customisable attachments that give the user an improved range of motion, more ease of use for difficult-to-open packaging, and precision application that is otherwise hard to achieve.

Meanwhile L’Oréal brow Magic promises users to shape their own eyebrows as well as a professional with its electronic makeup applicator. The device uses 2,400 tiny nozzles and a printing technology with up to 1,200 crop per inch printing resolution.
