German premium TV brand Loewe has launched a special edition TV with only 99 sets produced – called the bild s.77 – in celebration of its 99th year in operation.

Handcrafted at the company’s headquarters in Kronach, the TV boasts genuine gold-plated elements fused into the design of the TV, while the set itself features a 77-inch OLED screen, and promises the highest fidelity content.

With a dual channel chassis SL 512, an SX Quad Core Processor and 4K resolution display, even low-resolution content can be enjoyed to its fullest potential thanks to a sophisticated upscaling technology, the company says. HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision are also included.

The TV also utilises Loewe’s Kinematic technology; a mechanism that “lifts” the display when the TV is activated, revealing the soundbar.

The sound bar contains ten forward-facing drivers with 120 watts of power. In addition, it benefits from Mimi Defined technology, an advanced piece of tech said to recognise the optimum audio levels for one’s individual hearing abilities, analysing sound and tone in real time and adjusting itself for the listener.

Within the TV is an integrated hard disk, which is now twice the size of the previous at 2TB. This includes the most cutting-edge of SSD tech, Loewe claims, ensuring noiseless recording of up to two programmes simultaneously. Finally, thanks to its Bluetooth capability, one can listen to the TV wirelessly, a handy feature for late-night movie marathons.

Outside the box, the bild s.77 sports a plethora of premium features; including an Apple TV 4K Box, the Loewe smart cover in graphite grey; and a 2m HDMI cable with gold-plated connectors. It also comes with a signature gold-plated badge, each one signifying its numerical position in the collection, plus a gold-plated Loewe signature flag, and gold-plated Loewe signature ring.

The bild s.77 edition is available now from Loewe.TV and select high-end retailers from £12,999 (€15,623).

With a Red Dot Design Award and iF Design Award already under its belt, this special edition bolsters the credentials of the original model.
