Level leverages Apple Home Key with new Lock+
Level, a startup that specialises in smart locks, has announced a new version of its product which is configured with Apple Home Key.
The Level Lock+ is the successor of the Level Lock Touch. The new product comes with the addition of Apple Home Key, a feature that lets smart home manufacturers integrate their products into Apple’s Wallet app, meaning users can open their doors via their iPhone or Apple Watch product.
The product works by replacing your existing lock, with a range of customisable features, such as auto-lock and key sharing. The power reserve feature could also prove to be useful for users, as if someone’s iPhone is out of battery, Apple Home Key can still be accessed for up to five hours.
“Our habits are more digitally intertwined than ever. Consumer behaviour has evolved to rely on technological enhancements to make secure access more convenient,” said John Martin, Co-Founder and CEO of Level Home, regarding the announcement.
“Level Lock+ could not have come at a more perfect time – this is something iPhone or Apple Watch users can utilise, and we’re seeing that people are ready to integrate smart locks into their daily routines.”
The smart lock features a gearbox which locks and unlocks “through the toughest external conditions.” It is powered by a CR2 battery that is located within the deadbolt. Furthermore, the Lock+ is BHMA AAA certified, recognised as the industry standard for safety and durability.
“With Level Lock+, it was important to us to advance the technology and safety inside of our smart locks through the latest and greatest solutions available without any sacrifice in size or design,” said Ken Goto, Co-Founder and CTO of Level Home.
