IFA 2023: Sustainability Village, Robotic Bar and Leaders summit among new features

Visitors to this year’s IFA 2023 can expect an even better show, with more opportunities to be wowed, as a whole host of new events and features are planned. These include The House of Robots, The Sustainability Village, a Robotic Bar, and a Gaming and Esports Bar.

In addition, IFA NEXT has a new revamped startup zone, and visitors can be inspired by the new conference formats at the new IFA Leaders’ Summit. International DJs, YouTubers and influencers will be on the scene and the trade show will host an all-new VR Experience.

The House of Robots

This zone will demonstrate how future homes are likely to be impacted by the latest technology advancements in robotics. IFA 2023 is curating the House of Robots so that attendees can gain first-hand access to the latest in robotics for homes plus an opportunity to meet the best robots of 2023. This feature allows attendees to test and see up close the most technologically advanced robotics in the world.

The Sustainability Village

Consumers are becoming increasingly conscious of the decisions they make, and they are looking more than ever for responsible consumer choices. As sustainability moves to the top of their agendas, IFA 2023 is launching its new Sustainability Village, with an onsite repair shop tackling e-waste, a series of workshops and sessions on sustainability best practices, and networking focused on connecting sustainability leaders with the wider IFA community.

The IFA Leaders’ Summit

The IFA 2023 Leaders’ Summit will be a momentous occasion for senior market leaders, technologists, innovators, influencers, retail c-suite executives, and decision-makers to meet in Berlin, home to a vibrant European tech ecosystem. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the latest developments, share best practice, celebrate key milestones, and gain an up-close look at the latest disruptive innovations in the electronics and appliances sectors.

According to the IFA organisers, notable topics of discussion will include the future of smart homes and domestic robots, IoT devices for the upcoming year, immersive technology, AI powered devices and smart appliances, and the latest trends in consumer tech. The summit will offer high level thought leadership on the battle for tech supremacy, globalisation trends, the cost of living and energy crisis, building business resilience during crises, cloud gaming expansion, and more.

IFA NEXT

For 2023, visitors can expect a new look and feel to this future-facing area. Berlin
and Europe have one of the most diverse startup ecosystems, IFA organisers say. In a statement, it adds that “we are investing heavily in IFA NEXT to attract the German and European ecosystem of startups, investors and corporate innovation labs.

“We have partnered with an experienced organisation within the startup ecosystem to deliver this. This year, an expertly crafted programme will feature the hottest startups across the industry, and a comprehensive programme including demo days, startups pitches and investor panels.”

At IFA 2023, 500+ startups are expected – a significant growth from previous years.

The Gaming & Esports Bar

IFA 2023 is inviting its younger audiences to explore the latest in gaming tech and esports. This area has been designed after extensive feedback from gaming companies, experts, buying groups and influencers, IFA organisers commented.

Finally, #Berlintechweek is a new tech festival hosted by IFA. The purpose of this festival is to connect the global tech community in Berlin and provide an umbrella for satellite events cross Berlin during IFA, with the aim to amplify the event as “the place to be for tech and innovation”. IFA is working closely with its partners at Visit Berlin and Berlin Partners to
make this a reality.
