MORNING BRIEFING

By Kai Mangelberger, Director IFA 2022

“We’re on the home straight and it’s a winner”

Good morning and welcome to the final day of IFA 2022. It has been an absolute pleasure, and I would like to start by saying thank you to all those who have worked so hard to make these last days a success. It is now more important than ever for our industries to come together and meet face-to-face, not only to conduct high-quality business, but also to exchange ideas and solutions and overcome the challenges of tomorrow.
Over the past few days, the world’s top tech brands and retailers have filled the halls of Messe Berlin, showcasing their latest products and services, and the show continues today. If you haven’t already, definitely explore IFA NEXT in Hall 20 where startups, research institutes, associations and industrial enterprises will continue to present a wide range of forward-looking technologies.
This morning’s sessions, starting at 10:30am, will be discussing artificial intelligence, augmented robotics and immersive experiences. Later in the afternoon, there will be more startup pitches and stories before the winner of the day is announced at just after 5pm.
There are also plenty more innovative solutions to discover at the booths and stands of our exhibitors, who have come from all over the world. Make sure to visit our special areas, including the Smart Home, iZone and Reseller Park. Here you will discover all the facets of today’s digital home, mobile accessories and a carefully curated B2B marketplace.
We have also transformed the exhibition grounds under the Radio Tower into the IFA Sommergarten – “Entertainment City”, with plenty of fun activities, autograph sessions with TV stars, top athletes and football players, live cooking and talk shows, as well as games and e-sports events, shows for children and adults.
Remember that all of the IFA keynote speeches and other various convention formats are livestreamed on our new virtual B2B platform IFA Virtual, and will be available a day later on the platform as videos on demand.

Finally, I want to say thank you all for coming. Whether it was your first time or your return to IFA, it has been an honor to share this international stage with you. Despite the challenges we have faced over the past two years, the industry is still standing strong and IFA 2022 is testament to this.
