CEO of Vestel welcomes a return to IFA with an eye on future technology

Enis Turan Erdoğan, CEO of the Vestel Group of Companies, speaks with us about 30 years of IFA participation, as well as the new product and strategical focuses for Vestel moving forward.

How does it feel to be back at IFA 2022 in person?
We have been participating in IFA for 30 years. After two years off due to the pandemic, we took our place at the fair with hundreds of our technologies again this year. We are happy to be at IFA again and to exhibit our technologies, covering a wide scale from consumer electronics to white goods, smart home systems to automotive, battery solutions, and professional displays, within the framework of our sustainability vision.

What product categories are you focusing on and why?
We aim to add convenience to the life of the consumer through technology. We analyse the needs and expectations of consumers well, and closely follow the technologies of the future. Artificial intelligence (AI), software and the internet of things (IoT), smart home and battery technologies are some of our top priorities.

We want our technologies to enter every home, reach everyone, and we all want more comfortable moments and better days for our customers.

Sustainability is one of the major themes at IFA 2022, what steps is Vestel taking to be more sustainable?
Vestel’s vision is to be a technology company creating social and environmental benefits through accessible and smart products that make life easier. The company’s sustainability strategy is fully integrated into its business strategy. In this context, Vestel aims to achieve human-oriented transformation in its entire value chain through the power of technology; to become a net zero company in its entire value chain by 2050; and to develop solutions that meet the needs of a sustainable future.

To support the transition to a net zero emissions economy, Vestel is applying innovative business models and adopting circular economy practices. The company is focusing on energy efficiency, renewable energy usage, resource efficiency and water stewardship in its production. Vestel is designing products that use recycled and recyclable materials, which are free from hazardous chemicals, durable, easy to repair as well as energy and water efficient.
