ASUS launches new ASUS Zenbook 15 OLED

Taiwanese computing brand ASUS has announced the launch of a new laptop featuring a NanoEdge display and weighing just 1.4kg

ASUS says it’s also thin, but durable with an all-metal chassis of 14.9mm. While its 15.6-inch 16:9 120Hz 2.8K ASUS Lumina OLED NanoEdge display is Pantone certified for accurate colour rendering and VESA DisplayHDR. It also has True Black 500 for the deepest blacks and is SGS and TÜV Rheinland-certified for eye protection.

This ultra-thin design is compatible with a current trend for greater portability, driven by a growing demand for flexible work arrangements and the rise of remote work. Users are looking for laptops and notebooks that are lightweight, thin, and easy to carry. As a result, manufacturers are developing new models that are designed with portability in mind.

According to a report by IDC, the global notebook market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 0.8% between 2021 and 2025. This growth is being driven by the demand for more portable devices, as well as the increasing adoption of cloud-based applications and services.

Other features of the Zenbook 15 include a Ryzen processor and AMD Radeon graphics card, the ASUS Zenbook 15 OLED features up to 32GB of RAM and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. WiFi 6E is enhanced by ASUS WiFi Master Premium.

To facilitate videoconferencing when working remotely, there is an innovative IR camera system FHD equipped with ASUS 3DNR technology and ASUS AI noise-cancelling audio technology, including new algorithms for making video and audio from conference calls even clearer, guaranteeing an even more productive experience.

For immersive entertainment, the Zenbook 15 OLED features a Dolby stereo sound system Atmos, also Harman Kardon certified, combined with an intelligent amplifier capable of multiplying the volume up to 3.5 times compared to a standard amplifier.

The laptop comes in two finishes: an aluminium, and eco-friendly, high-tech plasma ceramic Basalt Gray or an anodized Ponder Blue.

According to ASUS, the Basalt Grey finish uses a special process to transform the aluminium lid into a plasma ceramic aluminium, which is exclusive to the Taiwanese brand. This process uses pure water, and no organic compounds, strong acids, or heavy metals are required. Instead, this environmentally low-impact bath-based method produces a physical and chemical transformation of the aluminium. This results in increased wear resistance, corrosion protection, thermal management, hardness, and lifespan.

Indeed, with increasing concern for the environment, many laptop manufacturers are now focusing on sustainability. This includes using recycled materials, reducing waste in production, and designing laptops that are energy-efficient and can be easily repaired. According to a report by Global Market Insights, the global sustainable laptop market is expected to reach $11 billion by 2025.

Finally, to help keep the laptop clean, it’s treated with ASUS Antimicrobial Guard plus, which is said to reduce the proliferation of viruses and bacteria by up to 99%.
